How will this conference benefit patients?

The upskilling of HCPs in primary care in the modern management of Type 2 diabetes, heart failure and CKD and reinforcement of recent evidence, guidance and licenced indications will aim to address the unmet need by:

  • Improving the management of cardiovascular risk factors in patients with Type 2 Diabetes and a move away from glucose-centricity
  • Increasing the uptake of therapies such as SGLT2is with proven cardiovascular benefit early in the management of Type 2 Diabetes and CKD (with or without diabetes)
  • Increasing detection of heart failure and crucially facilitating earlier detection by identifying high-risk cohorts to screen
  • Earlier detection and optimised management of CKD
  • Encourage appropriate de-prescribing of sulphonylureas and DPP4is
