Skills Masterclass is designed to empower you. These skills will be taught by highly experienced GP trainers with wealth of experience in clinical practice and training medical students. Not only you will have provision to get hand on experience, but you will receive a workbook and be assessed & signed off by the designated GP for the relevant physical examination undertaken.

Participants will be grouped into smaller units, where they will receive mentorship and undergo assessment on a rotating basis.

Speaker: MA (Cantab) FRCP FRCGP PGDip Cardiology. GPwSI Cardiology. Dr Javaid qualified from Cambridge University and completed his VTS training in Northampton. He has a specialist interest in cardiology and echocardiography and was a clinical lead in the Northamptonshire Community Cardiology service, which had a focus on patients with heart failure and valve disease. He was also the primary care Cardiovascular lead for the East Midlands Clinical Network from 2013-2020. He was named Pulse “GP of the Year” in 2015 for his work in reducing stroke emergency admissions in the East Midlands. He is on the editorial board for the British Journal of Cardiology and a trustee of Heart Valve Voice.

MPharm, MBA, IP Amardeep is a seasoned Senior GP Pharmacist with over a decade of experience across community pharmacies, GP surgeries, and hospitals. He graduated from Aston University in 2008 and pursued an IP qualification from the University of Wolverhampton in 2014, specializing in Diabetes, Anticoagulation, and Urgent Care. Driven by a passion for education and training, Amardeep serves as a visiting Lecturer at the University of Wolverhampton and holds the role of Honorary Assistant Professor at the University of Birmingham. In addition to these roles, he actively contributes to the development and assessment of future pharmacists as an OSCE examiner and DPP for IP students. Simultaneously, Amardeep dedicates his time as a Pharmacy Foundation Year Tutor, playing a crucial role in guiding students through a successful transition into qualified professionals. He has two papers published on clinical placement framework for undergraduate pharmacy students in the UK.
